Re: Riding - Mountain/Road for health & hobby info request
How are the craftworx wheels going Noel? I'm bored so thought I would do some research and desktop analysis on the B2GC and Ipswich 100 (mile). B2GC profile: 2014B2GC.JPG Ipswich 100 profile: Ipswich.JPG B2GC is interesting in that it is almost literally all down hill (especially once you're past Mt...

Re: Riding - Mountain/Road for health & hobby info request
Thanks for the followup Noel. Interesting to see that a) your Shimano's weighed in correctly (all of mine have always been over), and b) that the Craftworx front is heavier but the rear is lighter.

Re: Riding - Mountain/Road for health & hobby info request
The aero wheels get a bit of momentum up, so once you're cruising they act like a big flywheel. There's no doubt that a lighter wheel is snappier on the climbs though. Cross winds with a deep dish would not be an issue with your weight. I've got lots of thoughts about these craftworx, would you mind...

Re: Riding - Mountain/Road for health & hobby info request
Some wheels will get more spokes to make them stronger, but its not like a road wheel takes the regular punishment dished out on a MTB.

Re: Riding - Mountain/Road for health & hobby info request
Shame to hear about the Shimano's Noel, between myself and friends we've put 100,000+ kays on Shimano wheels and never had a problem (which wasn't caused by a truck, gutter, etc). That includes guys who are over 100kg's. I'll be interested to hear how you go with the Craftworx, handbuilt wheels can ...

Re: Riding - Mountain/Road for health & hobby info request
I haven't seen them Noel, my normal Friday ride was out of 100 acre bar at St Lucia. I think my best average for a river loop in the bunch was almost 40kph... Where do the Cisco boys leave from? Steve: There's a slightly longer river loop option which I think would be good. I'll ride in from home, s...

Re: So lets see what this is all about then.....
Multi factor auth is nowhere near as popular as it should be. I agree that banks will do the right thing and return your $$$'s, but its still a nuisance, and it would be harder if it were something like a paypal or ebay exploit. That all said, I like what Samsung is doing, competition is good, and i...

Re: So lets see what this is all about then.....
Its not the extra keys, its how they are controlled. I cant remember specifics, but its things like going back a page in one app, vs going back to the main page in another app. I disagree on the malware, lets start at the top. The following graph is the calculated proportion of devices running vulne...

Re: So lets see what this is all about then.....
I tried all 3 back to back over a few weeks once and found Winmo to be just too weird to use and with an App Store full of junk and malware, android to be simultaneously awesome (extra keys for back, etc and great range of apps) and for the same reasons frustrating (keys don't behave the same way in...

Re: VR
It's pretty good, I just viewed some haunted house demo thing because Tim wouldn't send through any 60fps goodness.
I'd like to see this gopro surfing video everyone is talking about. Work is getting a hololens too, so will be interested to see how the AR goes.

Re: VR
I used some VR goggles (with a Samsung Galaxy Edge) and it was pretty awesome. The dude who had it is a massive tech head and said that although he has an oculus rift on order, the Edge had a higher resolution. When I asked him about the PC power required for the oculus, he said it wasn't as bad as ...

Where abouts? I know he was in town for the Cootha Burn.
Road cyclists are usually fairly small. I met Robbie McEwen once and he's a short arse. I think Cadel is even smaller.

This is the article I was talking about on the weekend Noel: http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=stein/090701
I've actually posted it here before, but its still a good read about eating in a big race!
