Re: Landscaping

So, it took 4 guys just under 2 weeks to do all the work. They pulled some 12hr days aswell. They turned up at 6am on the dot, and when I got home at 6pm, on quite a number of days they were just starting to pack up. I was the last job of their year and they wanted to get it done before Christmas. T...

Re: Landscaping

They've done a fair bit of work in the last couple of days. They are still tracking to have it all finished by Christmas. They'll have the firepit side finished in the next day or two, then they start the otherside of the house. On Thursday, the sandstone rocks turned up. These are about 100cm x 45c...

Landscaping

So it's been about 18 months since we completed the last project, which was the shed. Time to hit the landscaping. I originally had no freaking idea what I wanted to do. Absolutely none. So I got a couple of guys out who both threw out some very good ideas, but ultimately it was the landscaper who I...

Re: Solar Thread - PVOutput

They look to be *very new*. Most reviews of them are within the last 4 months and are all 5 star etc. Also not a single mention of them on Whirlpool yet (which is odd).

I would go with your gut, and point 1 of what you wrote.

Powerwall 2.0

Cheaper, higher capacity, and has the inverter built in so there's no hidden costs..
https://www.tesla.com/en_AU/powerwall

30kwh of battery backup for $24k....that's looking way cheaper now!

Re: Movie/TV thread- reviews & suggestions

The Fall I've had this show for a little while but only just started watching it.  Season 3 is currently screening... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2294189/ I'm half way through Season 1, and I like it.  It's a bit like True Detective.  If you want a good crime/serial killer/police investigative/dete...

Re: Solar Thread - PVOutput

So now that I'm making fat stacks soaking up the suns energy, its reignited my interest in PVOutput etc. Since getting the additional panels put in I've been monitoring my power production, and I've been peaking at around 5100-5300 watts of power when the sample was recorded.   In the 2 weeks since ...

That's awesome! What keeps the camera so stable?

I'm going to attempt to get to the LBS this week to get my MTB sorted.

Re: Solar Thread - PVOutput

So today was the first day of (more or less) full sun since the system was installed.  I'm pretty happy with the results... Almost 28kWh produced today... untitled.png And today has not only cost us nothing, but made us money.  Light blue is power made.  Orange is power used at the same time.  Dark ...

Re: Riding - Mountain/Road for health & hobby info request

The B2GC is a fairly easy 100km. I've now done the B2GC (twice), Ipswich 100 Imperial and the Greater Brisbane Bike Ride, and the B2GC is by far the easiest out of those. Apart from some small climbs around Yatala, and some inclines (false flats?) along the busway near Mt Gravatt, it's pretty much d...

Re: Riding - Mountain/Road for health & hobby info request

That's awesome. Once things settle down with the new bub (and I get the B2GC out of the way)... I really want to go to Daisy Hill and check it out. I keep seeing your pics and keep hearing about it, but I've never been there and would love to go.

Piix 3G Digital Frame

So it was my mum's 70th today, and "Veronica & Andrea" got her this... https://www.iinet.net.au/hardware/piix/ I like it. The $50 inc 2yrs of IINET network access, and then after that I figure I'll just through in a $30/yr vodafone SIM.   Now I can direct send pictures to the photo frame anytime, or...

Re: Solar Thread - PVOutput

Yep all good on the FIT front. The FIT is based on the inverter that was approved, and we deliberately locked in the 6kw inverter when we did for this reason. If my inverter ever dies, I can replace it with the same capacity, or less and not lose the FIT. I can't upgrade otherwise I'll get bounced. ...

Re: Solar Thread - PVOutput

We're getting 14 x 260w Winaico panels aswell (facing north west) in addition to the 16 x 190w Trina panels we currently have which are north east. With the current Trina setup, we offset around $240-300/quarter depending on the time of year. The new panels should add a lot more to that now we'll be...

Re: Solar Thread - PVOutput

So we're upgrading our solar system. In 2011, we got a 6kw inverter but with only 3.04kw of panels. We're now adding an extra 3.64kw of panels. Just waiting for the energex paper work and then they'll book in a date to do the install. Hashtag nomorepowerbills
