Re: Movie/TV thread- reviews & suggestions

The Fall is great, pretty dark but interesting.

I watched "Nice Guys" a couple of weeks ago. Great movie. The scene where they are at the burnt house is one of the best I have ever seen in a movie.

Re: Sous Vide Cooking

a mate and I have cooked Sous Vide the past two nights - one was pork loins, the other steaks. each was perfect after being finished on a hot pan. Hard to fault this style of cooking and its so simple.

Re: new shopping trolley

Cameron, you'll have to drive my car again soon. DSG's are great, I can't fault mine around town or on when punting hard. Yet to drive a good CVT but open minded about them being better than the Avis hire car ones I have driven.

Adding to Cams idea, maybe some epoxy resin to hold it together.

Re: Advice required - retaining walls etc

If you keep your retaining wall under a metre high you don't need a balustrade on top. I am unsure, but suspect that at 1m you also need an engineers approval for them. I think you can do something clever with the retaining walls. if you have the space next to the house you could terrace the wall, i...

Re: Advice required - retaining walls etc

That potentially is a big job. Are you building your house pad level up? or retaining the neighbours? What extent of the overall boundary are your retaining, just one side or a corner? What's the reason for the retaining of this size? Usually the developer (if in a new subdivision) will provide reta...

Re: Advice required - retaining walls etc

Ryan, what exactly do you want to know? I the retaining wall to split the levels of the house? in the yard to retain landscaping, or a pool? on the boundary?

Do you have a plan? happy to help you out.
