Re: Buidling a gaming PC?

Pentium CPU's are designed where there is very little need for graphics power, you'd either need the 3260 and an external GPU for 'some' gaming capability, or i3/i5 which has better graphics built in.

4 core is always better, just depends on what your budget is. 2 core is fine for basic stuff.

Re: IP - Anonymity / Security

There is some intelligence with the rear wheel steering in the new GT3. For low speed the rear wheels steer in the opposite direction to the front (think of a forklift's turning circle), and in high speed the rear wheels steer in the same direction as the front (think crab walk). As soon as the car ...

Re: IP - Anonymity / Security

In the example of optimising contact patch real time, my theory goes straight out the window. But the tech that Ewen is talking about would go really well with a smart diff/cornering control which (if the inside wheel had purchase on the road) could brake the tyre into the corner and put power to i...

Re: IP - Anonymity / Security

Having just watched Chris Harris' review of the Ferrari 488GTB (literally betwee my last response and this), its interesting to look at what can be done with a classic suspension setup and then a computer to control the trick bits (damping, diff, FRIC if you want to look at something like the Macca ...

Re: IP - Anonymity / Security

What's the primary target for your application? I don't deny that an active suspension system to maintain an ideal contact patch is good, but you've got to ask where Mercedes are at after 13 years of development with their system (bearing in mind that during that time the ipod has been born and put ...

Re: IP - Anonymity / Security

Google 'Mercedes F400 year 2002' - it should provide you with some help on where to aim your research. Of course, Mercedes have 13 years and a few million dollars in development head start, but don't let that stop you. :thumb

Re: Professional Amatuer Shots

I shot this on a farm visit over the weekend (waaaaaaaaaaaay out west, no moon, no light pollution). This is exactly how it looked in person - it was almost disappointing to come back to Brisbane the following night, look up, and not be able to see a fraction of the stars. No exif so don't bother lo...

thanks again for the pointers. anyone else? Robert Capa (google him) is famous for saying 'If your photos aren't good enough, you're not close enough' - my thoughts on your photos is that there is too much unnecessary information in your framing. The good thing about modern cameras with high megapi...

It's hardly going to creep during a photo of water in full sunlight...

Stand further back from the leaves, leave the aperture as is, and you'd get more of the water in focus. That said, if you like the photo then it doesn't matter what other people think!

Re: Is the internet running out of bandwidth?

Again I'm no expert, but I do know that since the bulk of high speed data transfer is by fibre optics, simply make the light shine with more intensity ie brighter....right? But surely even fibre optics have an upper limit. Bit like when someone comes at you in the other lane with half a dozen Narva...
