Re: Building a home?
Looking at a 2 level house from: http://stylemasterhomes.com.au/home-designs/ Some nice ones in there! :D There are some ok designs there, and they utilise space rather well, but dont be fooled by plans. Marketers always under-size the furniture to make the rooms look bigger. A 3000x3000 with a dou...

Re: Building a home?
OK just a brain dump to start with but I agree with Noel and Dan. Since you are looking at living there, it is going to be a home and not a house so I would recommend pushing your budget up as far as possible as doing things at the start not only are better (as they are designed) they end up being c...

Re: Building a home?
Couple of questions:
1) are you going to flip it in the next 5 years
2) number of people living there at day one and then at 5 years
3) are you going to work from home?
4) do you like cooking?
5) location
6) approx budget for the build

Re: Solar Thread - PVOutput
Has anyone looked at Consumption options for PVOutput??? Mick now has it and it is rather helpful to see what he is producing compared to consuming. I have three phase though, and the units that Rick sells are about $300 each, so that is $900 just to see what I am using - not really worth it. So I a...

For what I use... it is fine. Don't normally need something that is older than 10 versions ago.

Re: Cloud Storage
I run everything from dropbox (I know there may be better and cheaper but I have been using it since it was launched and I am happy with them). I have all my files, in car movies, music etc sitting on there. The only thing that is not on there is my TV/Movies - as my theory is i can just redownload ...

Yep. With the savings that I'm seeing I would put return on investment at about 2.7 to 3 years which is rather fast.

Got my first full quarter bill this week. I am with origin so I am on a 6c feed in tariff. My total bill was $319 if paid on time. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/10/24/e2a5ubez.jpg My old bills in my old house were between $900 and $960 per quarter. I believe that some of this if because we insulated ...

Re: Surface Pro 3
Keen to see what you think in a week.
I am genuinely thinking of one as a replacement for my Helix convertible when it finally dies.
I don't use any heavyweight programs anymore apart from photoshop. So it makes sense to go smaller and lighter.
