Does it come with a tray lid? What about those rearrangable box thingos that sit in the tray?

Dunno what you plan to use the tray for but a cops biggest thrill (and revenue cheque) comes these days from dishing fines to people with unsecured loads.

Pair of thongs sitting loosely in the back and not tied down? $1000 fine kiddo. Bang.

yep - but the cops will only fine you if you have an $800,000 front fence.

Unfortunately, the story is mostly true. Rather than thongs though, its normally gumboots. Quite a few of the guys I see on the mining courses have been done for this, everything in the tray must be secured. The fine is not $1000 though, but something like $297/boot.

Similar with people driving with the revolving orange roof light on, or with their dune poles still attached.

Some common city based ones, lots of stop line related. Not stopping with your wheel before but within 1m of the stop line (at traffic lights), not stopping at stop signs.

He's right to a degree... I've had a massive load of stock in the tray of one of our work utes and been stopped for whatever reason for them to check the load. (I had 2 mowers on the trailer at the time). They found one of the chainsaws I had in the tray of the ute that I hadn't run the rope through the handle of. I was allowed to just re-route the rope so it was secure without a fine but they still checked.

I have also been told that rope isn't a sufficient means of securing a load any more. Anything in a tray/trailer must be secured with rated ratchet straps... not 100% sure on this though as it came from a somewhat sensationalist source.
