5 car garage

Post by cGr » Tue 01 Dec, 2015 10:24 pm

Name the 5 cars you'd have in your perfect garage. Cars have to be useable and mostly roadworthy (no LMP's, concepts), but disregard stupid ADR rules (so Huayra, Veyron, etc allowed).

1. Mercedes C63 Estate - daily. Would love to have 2 kids and a dog in the back and still giggle like a school girl in the tunnels.
2. Porsche 991 GT3 - Track/mountain runs.
3. Porsche 365A Speedster - Weekend café cruiser with the missus.
4. Porsche Cayenne S diesel - Wife/long haul (so essentially the same thing)
5. Ferrari F12 - Special option car.

4. Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce - Weekend car (to rape the environment and AWD for a bit of safety :) )

- Porsche Macan - still need something sensible, don't really love SUVs but it was either this or a C class
- Mini Cooper S - fun, economical, dynamic and enough everything for a sensible price.
- Weismann GT - dream car
- Cayman GT4 - car for when corners are involved
- Mazda BT50 - best ute on the market, and I have driven them all.

Funny timing but I was just commenting to someone last week that I have the perfect 5 car garage for me, now. I have pretty much picked from the one car-maker's catalogue, but it works for obvious reasons

Oops, and Cam - that would be a Porsche 356. And if you are after one, I have been mulling over a 356 Super90. Its worth the money, only needs a lick of paint to be perfect. Mechanically all rebuilt (for the second time). Has a slight outlaw look to it. 5 figures too.

I just don't know if people like me. I know when they don't like me 'cause they'll say things like, 'Yeah, that's him, officer.'

Let's take this a step further and provide some reasoning behind your choices:

Lexus LS600H

Have always loved luxury saloon cars and have a particular soft spot for Lexus. Build quality (imo) is as good as it gets - far far better than a Merc S class or BMW 7 series. 8L per 100km is an added bonus as well.

VW Amarok ultimate

Fully capable 4wd luxury ute, what more could you want? Also the best looking

MY15 Porsche 911 Turbo

If I could own any sports/supercar it'd have to be a Porsche 911. Always my boyhood pinup car, always will be.

Mercedes Benz SL400 convertible

I'd leave this parked at the old boy's retreat in Barwon Heads (down near Torquay, VIC). Yep....Great Ocean Road cruiser.

Audi RS6 Wagon

Coolest family hack ever. Completely absurd amounts of power, but like one gives a fuck.

5 cars is a pretty tough list as some reality comes into it, and you cant justify excess like F40 (except danny who is obviously a massive kid), more than 1 classic, or too many toys. Good to see some recent 'classics' in there (EVO VI, 32 GTR, etc), as well as a nice reference to the different personalities that make up redline.

First post edited with reasons.

Still waiting on our fearless leader, jnr, euge, and Noel.

Thanks for the offer Ted, but buying one now would mean I would be driving it on my own. Any chance of a test drive?
