So it was my mum's 70th today, and "Veronica & Andrea" got her this...

I like it.
The $50 inc 2yrs of IINET network access, and then after that I figure I'll just through in a $30/yr vodafone SIM. Now I can direct send pictures to the photo frame anytime, or while we're overseas.
Before wrapping the present, I also preloaded an SD card with like 300 photos. Of course I can update that SD card via a PC anytime I want to do a bulk update/add of photos. But for the occasional photo you get on your phone, and want to share with someone who doesn't have the internet - this is ideal.
The frame is also fully customisable. You can set how long each photo is displayed for, the transition settings, how it plays them (newest first, oldest first, random, alphabetically etc). Any photos you send to it just get thrown into the mix. There's 4Gb onboard storage and I added cheap 16Gb SD card I bought at Woolworths. Cellular pics go to the onboard storage, and the SD card is just whatever you throw on there. So basically...it will hold tens of thousands of photos.
It also has a motion sensor in the front, so if it doesn't detect movement in the room, it will go to sleep within however many minutes you say. 5min, 10min, 20min, 30min, 60min.....never. etc etc
Super easy to use (just plug in and turn on), and old people will love it.
