Sorry Steve.
I'm keeping mine. But thinking about kicking it if I can figure out the problem soon.
In which case you could buy it as a repairable write off?

$500 + for no drives is too much for a tight arse like me.

I will just throw more externals at my existing N40L :)

Ok FML
This thing will boot with the standard 1gb ECC RAM. But will only boot 1 in a 1000 times with the 2 x 4gb RAM.

No I haven't as yet. But what are the odds of two separate sticks of RAM having a fault?
Sick of rebooting the frigging thing and unplugging everything a thousand times.

Dead RAM is not uncommon. Have you tried another stick? I Have 2x original sticks here doing nothing you can try if you can be bothered?

Think I'll just buy another RPi and run this thing as just a server. Cheaper than buying more ram.

I have a new HP box sitting on my floor :)

Tomorrow will be a trip to UMART

1 x Western Digital Scorpio Black 500G 2.5 7200RPM 16MB SATA II $65.00 $65.00
4 x Western Digital Green 3TB Green 64MB SATA 3 WD30EZRX $135.00 $540.00

Open Media Vault will be installed tomorrow arvo and then it will make its way to my mates place as his NAS box.

These things are as sexy as hell. 4 x usb, 2 x USB3, 2 x NICS, and an iLo NIC (which now means they are a full blown server :)) I think that i am going to need one soon :)
