cheap large-screen tablet

Post by dan » Sat 19 Sep, 2015 6:37 pm

hey all,

i am chasing a cheap large-screen tablet for reading magazines on the shitter and watching twister and jumanji whilst travelling internationally. i want something at least 9" screen size. originally started looking at iPads, and would be happy with an iPad 3 or better... but my god they go for stupid money.

can anyone recommend something, or have something they want to get rid of? needs to run iOS or android - windows doesn't have the apps i want to run.

cheers,

dan

iPad 2s are still fairly useable and wouldn't be anywhere near the price of a 3. Mum has one and it runs iOS 8 easily.

Lol.
Nothing LG, I've had nothing but bad luck with them.

The other Korean brand Samsung however has never let me down. I'm writing this while touching my wooden coffee table

those sony tablets look awesome but they are pretty much iPad money. i am after something that is cheap - sorta like the original nexus tablet. if it is close to iPad money then i may as well get an iPad, at least it'll work like i expect and most of the apps i have already paid for will work.

I have an iPad 1. I can't even use it anymore. Apps crash after 30sec
I just don't know if people like me. I know when they don't like me 'cause they'll say things like, 'Yeah, that's him, officer.'

what do you consider "stupid money"?

you can buy a samsung galaxy tablet for around the $400 mark.
i bought my wife one a couple of years ago and its still going strong and does everything she needs it to do. (same as you basically)

Don't know, the last Lenovo product I had I ended up smashing it in disgust because it kept blue screening, it was worth 2 handfuls of peanuts on eBay and I just couldn't be bothered with it anymore.
