Lol, you sound like Telstra. You don't think I've tested my equipment?

Working fine for me, have you tried turning it off and then on again?

Apparently there's an interruption to international data services on Telstra cable services.

I think my internet has been shaped to half speed. Only getting 48 mbit and is usually 96. Test surged up to around 70 or 80 then dropped to a consistent 48.

Sunday morning I went to pick up the vacuum cleaner and felt something pop in my lower back.
Spent an hour trying to get from the floor to the couch where I spent the rest of the day. Then I got taken to the hospital by ambulance where I spent the night.apparently I've done something to my sciatica or something.
High dosage of panadine forte, neurofen and Valium and rest, but keep moving slowly every hour.
Never been in that kinda pain before!

Back pain is horrible. I hurt my back when I was 21, falling off a roof. Ended up compressing L4/5. That in itself is not the issue, more so that it is out of whack so if I don't look after it and the area gets inflamed, it becomes a pinched nerve and hurts for a few days. Pretty much curled into a ball. It took about 5 years to work out how to manage it, and now its rare that I suffer. I get enough warning to rest up. Back then the only solution was surgery which required 6 months lying in my front to recuperate, then physio after. I elected not to go down that path. These days they can do laser surgery I am told, which only a couple of days downtime.

There is a long term side effect of my choice though, a form of osteoperosis. Diagnosis was I had about 20 years of walking left. So I stopped going for xrays after 10yrs.

Once you recover, start working on exercises to strengthen and stretch your back. Only takes a few minutes a day, but it works.

I'm in the same boat as Ted, except I jumped off the deck of a boat and the water was about 500mm deeper than I thought so it jarred me bad.

Mine is less severe where I didn't compress a disk, just did nerve damage and came close to disk damage.

I too have figured out managing it pretty well, however sleeping on it wrong and getting out of bed too quick can bring it on bad.

I haven't had issues for a while, and I still MTB and even fractured a rib without the nerve playing up.

back pain is fkn shit. I have been dealing with bulging L4/L5 discs for most of this year. I first did it in January moving a concrete plinth under the house for a new air conditioning unit to sit on.

Doctors, 2 physios, an osteopath and an MRI got to the bottom of it. Was a few weeks of initial shithouse pain. Lots of physio, stretching, walking and core strengthening excersises. plenty of anti inflammatories and codeine sorted it out but i have put it out twice (not as bad) since the initial time i did it& so it has made me realise I gotta be really careful with it.

It's been pretty good for the past month or so (touch wood). I have been doing pilates for the past 6 months. It helps engage and strengthen in and around the core as well as stretch isolated areas. IE. Stretching of the piriformus can help with sciatic nerve problems. etc.

55-60 hour weeks for the past month. 7 day 24/7 office. No graveyards (yet) thank fuck, but I'm feeling rather done in.

Doctor at the hospital said to wait a month and if it's still sore to go to my GP and get an MRI. Until then, just do stretches and take pain killers if needed.
The thing that pissed me off the most was the Physio in the hospital couldn't even be bothered coming down to see me. She just told the nurse over the phone ONE exercise to do. Ugh. Shouldn't really expect more from Ipswich hospital I suppose. We asked to go to the PA but the ambos got redirected to Ipswich. :(

Either way, my back is feeling a lot better and I've halved the pain meds. So mustn't be too bad.

Apparently I have to get a GP to give me a clearance letter before work will let me back in.

Facebook app on iOS just goes from one pile of shit, to an even bigger pile of shit.

No, I don't want to share memories or pics from 5 years ago. And I've already told you this 3x already, seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

I also don't want you to automatically assume I wanna paste a link I've just copied as a new status update either.

Got the renewal notice from RACQ for the Accord.

$720 per annum pay by month, for a 14 year old car, insured for a market value of less than $5k is a FUCKEN joke.

Scrapped it on the spot and went with NRMA - $470 insured for a market value of 8 grand. Take that you extortionist c.unt
