Rolling Guards

Post by Eu-GenixX » Sun 14 Aug, 2011 6:33 pm

Hey guys..

Anyone had experience with rolling guards?

I've got my eye on another set of wheels.. but they will pop out maybe 15mm from the front guard..

all other clearances are fine.. standard size rim is 18x7 +46

These are 18x8 +35.. i've calculated they will be 5.7mm towards the inner guard and just under 20mm towards the outer.. I hope they don't cause any other issues.. does anyone know of anything that might be a problem?

Rears are fine.. they will sit inside the guards.. just the fronts poke out a flyshit..

I don't know how to go about getting the guards rolled.. who does it.. and how much it costs..

Thanks
Trent

You CAN do it yourself with a baseball bat and a hair drier... Or you can go to a smash repairer and get them to do it.. not many will do it with guarantee of the paint not cracking... ie if you want to pull them a bit as well... K&J Smash Repairs are probably a good start ;)

Thanks for the replies guys..

Are they any legal or safety ramifications from doing any of this?

Can I also just get this straight.. rolling the guards will effectively make them wider? and so the wheels don't poke out?

Brendan i'll shoot you a PM..

If you want to flare the guards, the proper way is a panel beater. You can't expand metal and paint without damage to the paint
