PS - Read the title and worked out straight away you'd upgraded ;)

If you can upgrade that new pro after you buy it then I'd be happy with going for the $2,500 one to start with.

I'm tempted to buy your Air but bills are piling up grr

I'm massively tempted, but this would be the wife's machine so I've got to work out whether this, or an ipad (for similar dollars) is a better spend.

GL with the sale though ash, I suspect it will get snapped up fairly quickly at this price.

What specs did you order your new pro with? Do you know if the physical dimensions (apart from the thickness) have changed to accomodate the 16:10 screen?

+1 - lack of decent screen res is the one thing about my 13" that I hate

Gizmodo reports that all macbook's will get retina display's, though maybe not 2800x1800pixel screens if you want to read into the new nomenclature for screen sizes (big, small, optimal).

it doesnt specifically say that they'll be getting a retina display though.

the specs of the new one are:
2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz memory
256GB flash storage
Intel HD Graphics 4000
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5 memory

the dimensions of the new one vs previous one are:
Height: 1.8 cm vs 2.41 cm
Width: 35.89 cm vs 36.4 cm
Depth: 24.71 cm vs 24.9 cm
Weight: 2.02 kg vs 2.54 kg

all the specs are better by looks of that.

Looks like they've crammed the extra height of the screen into the existing bezel. Nice.

The 1 example I did see was that you could preview 1920x1080 video in a preview pane of a video editing app. Cant imagine how much gpu grunt that's going to need?!
