Anyone want an iMac?

Post by Splash » Tue 04 Aug, 2015 10:12 am

Offering them here before I put them on eBay.

I've got 2 x 21.5" iMacs - circa 2010 or 2011

One is i3, 4GB RAM, new 500GB HDD and OSX Yosemite - $600

Other one is i5, 4GB RAM, new 1TB HDD and OSX Yosemite - $750

Both come with the standard bluetooth keyboard and magic mouse.

Prices are based on recent sold listings on eBay.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll get the full specs.

very tempted.... only because editing photos is crap on a 13in mba screen which would make something like this ideal.

Yeah but I've also wanted a desktop system alongside a laptop for a while now though. Will consider.

I just found an extra 4GB of RAM laying around that I could put into the i5 model if that helps sweeten the deal

It's got an optical drive built in as well?

And are you cool to wait 1-2 weeks? I'm probably going to drop (ie do away) with some excess camera kit to fund this thing. Simply don't use it often enough to warrant hanging onto. And if I do need a second body later down the track, I'll go with a twin full frame setup.

Anyone want an iMac?

Last question I promise

Only has USB2 ports. USB3 would mean a thunderbolt --> USB3 dongle? You seem to be the expert, do these work well enough for the outlay?

It isn't a deal breaker by any means but good to have the option available.

Cant say I've ever used a Thunderbolt to USB3 adapter before, only the genuine Apple thunderbolt to ethernet/firewire adapters which work fine.

It does have a built in SD card slot if you're looking for something for copying photos from your camera(s)

Yeah saw that, I have a swag of usb3 hard drives which I'm totally fed up hot swapping on the side of my MacBook Air - which is why one of these makes a lot more sense. Just means it'll be slightly slower :)

I am utterly sorry mate, wife's car threw a spanner in the works, literally :S

Sent you a PM but don't hold onto this on my behalf if you have other buyers. If it's still here in another week I'll take.

I can wait

At least you're letting me know. Some wanker bought another Mac I was selling on eBay a week ago but hasn't paid or organised to pick it up yet and wont respond to my messages. Thinking I'll have to relist that one.
