Sofa Bed

Post by dorift » Mon 24 Jun, 2013 7:08 pm

Anyone have a sofa bed they want to rid themselves of?

Having now set up our next babies room, we don't have a spare bed for guests at the moment. The fourth b/room (study) is too small to accomodate a double/queen bed *full time*, so keeping an eye out for a suitable sofa bed.

Been keeping an eye on gumtree and went and looked at one on the weekend, but thought it was worth a shot to ask on here.
Cheers.

if its just for the occasional guest, get a cheap ikea futon. its not the most comfortable thing in the world, but it does the job.

We've looked at futons and they're too small. Yet to find much that resembles anything comfortable, but more importantly, they just aren't long/wide enough; particularly for a couple. :)

i have one that i will soon be getting rid of and you're welcome to have it.... but i am getting rid of it because 95% of sofa beds are uncomfortable as all shit. i will be buying an ikea-style futon (called a "clik clak" apparently) in it's place. they are about the same size and infinitely more comfortable.

Do a cash-cvtr suburb hop, some (in fact most) have bits of furniture. We bought our couch from there even. A $1200 approx Bay Leather Republic for $299. Didn't find any coke hidden in the seats though....

Ill check that out.
Futons I looked at a week ago required me to lay at 45deg angle just so my legs didn't hang off the end. And they all appeared to be about 10percent wider than a single bed (fkn small for two people to try and sleep).

the good ones have a proper mattress that basically "folds in the middle" to make a sofa. they are about $500 or so. i'll be looking for one soon - i'll let you know how i go!
